Rate rise to meet government cap

YARRA Ranges Council voted to unanimously to adopt its 2016-’17 budget at a regular council meeting on Tuesday 28 June.
It will see rates rise by 2.5 per cent in 2016-’17, the limit set by the State Government’s rate cap.
The budget details $38.4 million in new capital works and infrastructure over the new financial year, in addition to its $178 million operating budget.
